City Council selects next City Manager Stefan Chatwin

By a unanimous vote on October 29, City Council selected Stefan Chatwin to serve as the City's next top administrator, who will start on December 30. Stefan is currently the City Manager of Imperial, California.

Fifty-seven applicants applied for the position. Stefan was among four finalists who took part in a series of panel interviews with community members, business leaders, and city staff. Mayor Price made the announcement following a special closed session of Fairfield’s City Council. Price stated, “Collectively we feel that we are in good stead. It was a very thorough, comprehensive bit of work.”

Bob Murray & Associates, a recruitment firm based in Roseville, conducted the intial search and screening of candidates and narrowed it to 10 candidates for council review, who then chose the four finalists.

Interim City Manager Sean Quinn will remain at the City of Fairfield until Stefan Chatwin starts his tenure.
