To coincide with National Fire Prevention Week, the Fairfield Fire Department is hosting an open house at Station 35 from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2019. Parking is available at Rodriguez High School and a shuttle will be provided to and from the fire station.
All Fairfield residents are invited to enjoy free barbequed hot dogs, fresh popcorn, and dessert at the event. For children, the department will offer fire prevention week goodies as well as the Junior Firefighter Confidence Course. The fire engines, tools, trailers, and turnouts will also be on display for all guests to explore. And to capture the fun, a photo booth with Sparky the Fire Dog will be on site! Fairfield residents / homeowners can sign up for free smoke detector home installations.
Fire Prevention Week is sponsored by the National Fire Protection Association. This year's theme is "Not Every Hero Wears a Cape. Plan and Practice Your Escape!"
Attendees will have an opportunity to interact with firefighters and members of our newly reestablished Fire Prevention Division to learn more about fire and home safety. In addition, leadership for the youth Explorer and Reserve Firefighter programs will also have booths to share information about how to apply and get more involved with the fire service. See flyer.
Hope to see you on October 24!
